2024-2025 Street Repair Contract

Sealed bids for Street Resurfacing will be received by the City of Mebane in the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, North Carolina until 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 20, 2024 and then publicly opened and read aloud.
The work will include the following items:
Work consists of milling existing asphalt pavement, full depth patching of existing pavement, utility adjustments, installation of asphalt concrete surface course, and pavement markings.
Plans and specifications are on file for inspection at the City Engineer’s Office, Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, North Carolina and at the office of the Engineers in Burlington, North Carolina. Blank forms of Proposal, with Specifications and Plans, shall be obtained from Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc. upon request. Minority Business Participation provisions are included in the Bid Documents.
Consideration will be given only to bids of Contractors who submit evidence that they are licensed under “An Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contracting”, ratified by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina on March 10, 1925, and as subsequently amended, when such Act is applicable.
A pre-bid conference is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, NC.
Each Proposal shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Proposal, said check to be made payable to the City of Mebane.
In lieu of the above cash or CERTIFIED CHECK, the bidder may execute a Bid Bond for the same amount.
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. By order of the City Council, City of Mebane, North Carolina.
