Downtown

Downtown MebaneTake a leisurely stroll downtown and enjoy great food and shopping. Downtown is also home to many seasonal events and festivals.

On Clay Street you’ll find a charming collection of cafes, restaurants, and unique shops on this downtown street. Clay Street is also the location of outdoor music events in the summer.

Antique lovers from around the country flock to the Mebane Antique Auction Gallery for both weekly and special auctions. A number of antique merchants can be found in our charming downtown, as well as gift shops, jewelry stores, and other unique retailers.

Don't miss the beautiful and historic Public Library, located near downtown at 101 S. First Street in a refurbished, historic hosiery mill.

Mebane Historical Museum & Train Display

The Mebane Historical Museum collects, preserves, and exhibits all manner of Mebane’s cultural and historical past. Open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Located at 209 West Jackson Street.

Within the museum is a unique collection of model trains. Open the second Saturday of the month.

Cates Farm is host to Mebane's newest and most picturesque Park and currently offers 2.0 miles of beautiful trails.  Cates Farm is 54 acres of what was formerly a pickle farm and is now being transformed into a mind, body, and spirit mecca!

Mebane also offers a number of other hiking, biking, and walking trails.
