The City of Mebane is updating the ongoing Water Shortage Response Plan, moving to Stage I Declaration of Voluntary Conservation, reducing from Stage V mandatory restrictions to reflect that the Graham—Mebane Water Treatment Plant is now partially operational to supply water to Mebane.

The Mebane Emergency Operations Center (EOC) officially closed Friday at 5 p.m., and the (919) 304-9235 number will no longer be active.

Kris Kloepping

Kris is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in Sport Management. In addition to recreation athletics, his professional experience includes hospitality management, sport hospitality sales, coaching high school basketball, and collegiate game-day operations.

Kris has served on numerous committees including: Statewide Athletic Committee (SWAC) as Chair, NCRPA Athletic Director’s Workshop Planning Committee, and the North Carolina Catastrophic Sport Injury Stakeholders Group.  He is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) through the National Recreation and Park Association and a Certified Youth Sport Administrator (CYSA) through the National Alliance for Youth Sports.

Kris is the proud recipient of the prestigious North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association Young Professional Award; presented in 2019 and the North Carolina Athletic Directors Workshop Young Professional Award; presented in 2023. The Young Professional Award recognizes outstanding leadership, services, and accomplishments to the profession and the community.
