In the current City of Mebane budget, the Mebane City Council allocated $50,000 for Downtown Improvements as a matching funds grant program that will reimburse an individual up to 50% of qualifying expenses for exterior improvements to a Downtown property. Grant funding is available for properties within the area of focus in the City’s adopted Downtown Vision Plan and for improvements that address one of four categories:
- Façade improvements;
- Outdoor seating;
- Exterior artwork; and
- Preservation of historic architecture and buildings.
