Meter Change-Out Program

Beginning on May 31, 2022, the City of Mebane will be undergoing a meter change-out program replacing approximately 900 aged water meters. Vanguard Utility Services will be performing the meter change-out service on behalf of the City of Mebane. During this change out you may experience a temporary disruption of service. If your meter is one of the selected meters to be changed out, a Vanguard or City of Mebane employee will attempt to notify you on the date of the change out. Since the meters are located outside of the home within the Street right of way, you will not need to be home for the change-out work. If you have any special concerns about any fixtures installed that may be affected by a temporary water service disruption, call 919-563-3401. The change-out program is expected to be completed by June 15, 2022.
