The City of Mebane is updating the ongoing Water Shortage Response Plan, moving to Stage I Declaration of Voluntary Conservation, reducing from Stage V mandatory restrictions to reflect that the Graham—Mebane Water Treatment Plant is now partially operational to supply water to Mebane.

The Mebane Emergency Operations Center (EOC) officially closed Friday at 5 p.m., and the (919) 304-9235 number will no longer be active.

On behalf of the City of Mebane, please be advised that the City is soliciting formal bids for the referenced project. Bid Documents may be obtained from Engineer’s webpage by downloading the documents from:

This project consists of grading; erosion control; installation of storm sewer pipe and headwalls; concrete curb and gutter and curb ramp; 3,615 lf asphalt paved greenway (6” ABC & 2” S9.5B) and 120 lf of Boardwalk; 800 lf of pavement markings, 14 bollards and 33 signs.

A Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 9, 2023 in the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, NC. Zoom attendance will be made available upon request.

Bid documents contain MBE/WBE provisions and bidders are encouraged to solicit MBE/WBE firms to meet 10% goal. Project funding will be by City of Mebane and NO NCDOT or federal funding is being provided.

Formal Bids will be received by the City of Mebane in the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building, 106 E. Washington St. Mebane, NC 27302 until 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 20, 2023.
It is anticipated that the project will be awarded at the August 7 meeting and work beginning in late August or early September. Contract time is 365 calendar days.

Prior to accessing files, participants will be required to accept Engineer’s Download Policy. The Policy requires that documents shall not be forwarded to other bidders; however, you will be permitted to forward to material suppliers to obtaining quotes and to subcontractors provided suppliers and subcontractors do not forward the documents to other bidders.
