Sealed bids for W. Carr Street Sidewalk Improvements will be received by the City of Mebane in the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, North Carolina until 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 11th, 2023, and then publicly opened and read aloud.
The work will include the following items:
- Installing 4” thick concrete sidewalk
- 8” crosswalk pavement striping
- Concrete flume installation,
- Concrete headwall installation
- Installation of detectable warning domes
- Relocating of existing
signage - Grading of the existing site.
Plans and specifications are on file for inspection at the City Engineer’s Office, Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, North Carolina, and at the office of the Engineers in Burlington, North Carolina. Blank forms of Proposal, with Specifications and Plans, shall be obtained from Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc. upon request.
A pre-bid conference is scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 28th, 2023, in the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, NC.
Each Proposal shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Proposal, said check to be made payable to the City of Mebane.
In lieu of the above cash or CERTIFIED CHECK, the bidder may execute a Bid Bond for the same amount.
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. By order of the City Council, City of Mebane, North Carolina.
