Code Enforcement

What is Code Enforcement?

The Unified Development Ordinance and the Code of Ordinances are both subject to enforcement by the Code Enforcement Officer of the City of Mebane. The Code Enforcement Officer ensures that Mebane is a safe, sanitary, and healthy environment to live, work, and play. Citizens may submit complaints related to overgrown grass, construction waste, junk cars, unsafe conditions, and other issues. The Code Enforcement Officer will inspect the suspected violation and communicate with property owners if there is a valid infraction. The Code Enforcement Officer aims to preserve and enhance the safety, appearance, and economic stability of our city to keep it positively charming.
