Training Division
The Training Division of the Mebane Fire Department provides continuing education and advancement training for all fire department members, both volunteer and career, including the maintenance of various certifications. The division is charged with the responsibility of providing training and certification in fire, rescue, driver operator, fire & life safety educator, and EMT continuing-education training and re-certification and initial training for new members. While most certification training is conducted by the Training Division as a direct delivery agency for the NC Fire and Rescue Commission, the department also partners with Alamance Community College, the NC Office of State Fire Marshal, and the National Fire Academy for classes and certifications.
The Mebane Fire Department is very fortunate to have our own training facility located on Corregidor Street along with a well-equipped classroom located at the Northside fire station on North First Street. The training facility consists of a four- story training building that contains two class-A burn rooms, a sprinkler system with standpipes, rooms for drill scenarios and repelling anchors for rescue training evolutions. A roof prop is available for ladder and ventilation training. The Training Officer is also responsible for maintaining the training records of each member to ensure they receive the required hours and topics during the year.
