Staffing our agency with highly qualified professionals, our agency ensures quality service. Our overall success, however, will be achieved by the community working hand-in-hand with our department to make this a safe and friendly city. Through continuous progression we will maintain a quality of life that is modeled by all cities.

About

The Mebane Police Department consists of 46 sworn positions. These positions include Administration, Patrol, Investigations, Vice/Narcotics, Special Operations, K-9s, School Resource Officers, and Animal Control. Our department has four civilian positions that include our records department, evidence, and CALEA Accreditation manager. The Mebane Police Department's communication and police dispatch operates through Alamance County’s 911 communications system.

Accident reports, as well as other reports, may be obtained at the Police Department from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or by emailing records@mebanepd.com. We offer Employment Fingerprinting on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In order to be eligible for our free fingerprinting service, you must either be a City of Mebane resident or currently applying for a job located within the city limits of Mebane.

The Mebane Police Department is very pro-active in Community Oriented Policing. Officers work with the community to address the citizens’ concerns. Any citizen wishing to form a Community Watch program in their neighborhood should contact the Police Department for more information.
